Minnis Bay


Minnis Bay (53˚20'00" 129˚27'00" S side of Hinton I, between Farrant I and Pitt I). RCAF pilot officer Harvey B Minnis, from Victoria, was killed in action on Apr 27, 1943. He was part of No 115 (RAF) Squadron, which flew medium and heavy bombers (Vickers Wellingtons and Avro Lancasters), mainly on night sorties over Germany’s industrial Ruhr region.
