Miners Bay


Miners Bay (48˚51'00" 123˚18'00" NW side of Mayne I, Active Pass, Gulf Is), Miners Channel (48˚38'00" 123˚17'00" E of Sidney I, N of Victoria). These features were named in 1859 by Capt George Richards of the survey vessel Plumper, after the great stream of would-be miners that surged from Victoria to the Fraser R during the 1858–59 gold rush.
