McKechnie Point


McKechnie Point (52˚58'00" 129˚08'00" N end of Chapple Inlet, W side of Princess Royal I). Dr Robert Edward McKechnie, CBE (1861–1944), was born at Brockville, Ont, and educated at Charlottetown and McGill Univ. He moved to BC in 1891 and set up a medical practice at Nanaimo, serving as president of the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1897, 1906 and 1910.
