McIntosh Rock


McIntosh Rock (54˚18'00" 130˚22'00" In Prince Rupert Hbr, E of Digby I). Named by hydrographer Lt Cdr Philip Musgrave in 1907 after Robert Leck McIntosh (1865–1945), postmaster at Prince Rupert, 1907–21. He came to the N BC coast in 1901 to work for cannery man Peter Herman at Port Essington and was postmaster there in 1906.
