McArthur Point


McArthur Point (52˚18'00" 128˚06'00" S side of Yeo I, Return Channel, N of Bella Bella). According to records at BC’s Geographical Names Office, the point was named in 1925 for J McArthur, dock agent for the CNR Steamship Co at Victoria in the early 1920s. This is probably James McArthur (1881–1956), who is listed in the 1901 census as a clerk working for the Canadian Pacific Navigation Co.
