Macktush Bay


Macktush Bay (49˚07'00" 124˚49'00" W side of Alberni Inlet, near Sproat Narrows, NE of Barkley Sd, Vancouver I). According to Nuu-chah-nulth artist and writer George Clutesi, who was a member of the Port Alberni-based Tseshaht First Nation, this name means “burned across.” Macktush Ck, which has the same meaning, enters the inlet just S of the bay.
