MK Bay


MK Bay (53˚59'00" 128˚39'00" E side of Kitimat Arm, N of Wathl Ck, just SE of Kitimat). This name, adopted in 1987, is an abbreviation for Morrison-Knudsen, the large US corporation that built the transmission lines from the massive power-generating station at Kemano to the aluminum smelter at Kitimat, 75 km N, in the mid-1950s.
