Lock Bay


Lock Bay (49˚11'00" 123˚49'00" NE side of Gabriola I, Gulf Is). Nick Doe of the Gabriola Historical & Museum Society has suggested that this name, applied in 1859 by RN surveyor Capt George Richards, might have been intended to honour Michael Lock or Lok (c 1532–c 1621), a 16th-century English mercer, trader and adventurer.
