Linn Rock


Linn Rock (52˚16'15" 128˚43'35" W of S tip of Price I, NW of Bella Bella). Sapper John Linn (1821–76) came to BC with the Columbia detachment of the Royal Engineers, which served in the colony 1858–63. He was born at Edinburgh and joined the British Army in 1846. His first N American posting was at Halifax, in 1848. Linn, a mason by trade, married Mary Robertson (d 1907) in NS in 1857 and returned to England that year, shortly before embarking once again with his bride in the Thames City...
