Laskeek Bay


Laskeek Bay (52˚49'00" 131˚35'00" SE of Louise I, off E side of Moresby I, QCI). Named by geologist George Mercer Dawson in 1878 after an old Tsimshian First Nation term meaning “of the Eagle clan” and referring to the prominent Eagle crest village of Tanu on nearby Tanu I. Tanu is sometimes described in early accounts of the region as Laskeek village. W
