Lanz Island


Lanz Island (50˚49'00" 128˚41'00" One of the Scott Is, W of Cape Scott, off NW end of Vancouver I). David Lance (1757–1820), born in Kent, went out to Canton as a clerk for the E India Co in 1773, when only 16. He became a junior trader in 1779 and was later in charge of the Canton office.
