Kwoon Cove

Kwoon Cove (52˚38'00" 131˚56'00" W side of Moresby I, S of Sunday Inlet, QCI). The hydrographic service adopted this name in 1964, taking it from Comparative Vocabularies of the Indian Tribes of BC, published in 1884 by William Fraser Tolmie and George Mercer Dawson, where kwoon is listed as the Haida word for whalebone.
