Kwomais Point


Kwomais Point (49˚01'00" 122˚52'00" SE side of Boundary Bay, just W of White Rk, SE of Vancouver). The name was adopted in 1946 and apparently means “dog face” in the Halkomelem language, according to BC historians Philip and Helen Akrigg. This part of Surrey, known today as Ocean Park (qv), was developed in the early 1900s as a Methodist church camp and retirement community.
