Kwakiutl Point


Kwakiutl Point (50˚21'00" 127˚59'00" S entrance to Quatsino Sd, NW end of Vancouver I). Kwakiutl, an obsolete but widely used term, was introduced by anthropologist Franz Boas in 1887 as the name for the Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation, whose members inhabit N Vancouver I and adjacent shores and speak the Kwakwala language.
