Kumeon Bay


Kumeon Bay (54˚42'00" 130˚14'00" SE side of Steamer Passage, E of Portland Inlet, N of Prince Rupert). The Kumeon Cannery was built here in 1918 by Northern BC Fisheries Ltd to process pink and coho salmon. The operation was closed in 1921; in the mid-1920s it was leased and then purchased by the Canadian Fishing Co.
