Koprino Harbour


Koprino Harbour (50˚30'00" 127˚51'00" N side of Quatsino Sd, NW end of Vancouver I), Koprino River (50˚31'00" 127˚51'00" Flows S into Koprino Hbr). The Koprino were a Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation and used to have their principal village in this area. They amalgamated with the Koskimo people sometime prior to George Mercer Dawson’s 1878 visit and moved to Hwates (Xwatis or Quattishe), E of today’s village of Quatsino.
