Kooryet Bay


Kooryet Bay (53˚20'00" 129˚54'00" Principe Channel, E side of Banks I), Kooryet Island (53˚21'00" 129˚52'00" In Kooryet Bay). The names were adopted in 1950 from the Gitxaala (Kitkatla) First Nation reserve at this location. Nearby Kooryet Ck (an important salmon stream) and Kooryet Lk (where some gold exploration work was done in the 1980s) also take their names from this reserve.
