Kloo Rock


Kloo Rock (52˚35'00" 131˚21'00" Off the N tip of Ramsay I, SE of Lyell I, E of Moresby I, QCI). This word is taken from George Mercer Dawson’s Haida vocabulary, co-authored by William Fraser Tolmie and published in 1884 as Comparative Vocabularies of the Indian Tribes of BC. The name, which means “canoe” in the Skidegate dialect of the Haida language, was adopted by the hydrographic service in 1962.
