Klashwun Point


Klashwun Point (54˚09'00" 132˚40'00" N side of Graham I, W of Virago Sd, QCI). Klashwun was the name given by the Haida First Nation to a prominent hill and landmark just W of Yatza (Ya-tze) village, also known locally as Little Mtn. Klashwun Point, originally named by George M Dawson in 1878 as Klas-kwun Point, is just N of the hill. Spanish naval officer Jacinto Caamaño named this feature Punta de Pantoja, after Juan Pantoja y Arriaga, his chief pilot, when he explored the region in 1792....
