Kingcome Point


Kingcome Point (53˚18'00" 128˚54'00" Fraser Reach, NE end of Princess Royal I). Merchant mariner William Kingcome (b 1834), from Plymouth, was a nephew of Rear Adm John Kingcome, cdr-in-chief of the Pacific Station (see Kingcome Inlet). He served aboard the HBC barque Princess Royal, under Capt John Trivett, as 2nd mate (1857–58) and 1st mate (1858–61), and was then appointed capt (1861–64) of this supply vessel, which sailed back and forth between London and Victoria.
