King Islets (50˚10'00" 125˚09'00" S end of Hoskyn Channel, between Quadra I and Read I, N end of Str of Georgia). Staff Cdr John William King (d 1882) was a naval assistant in the Admiralty hydrographic office, 1856–66. He had served on the China Station aboard HMS Modeste and Wellesley during the First Opium War, 1840–42, and was master of HMS Vernon at the River Plate in 1846.
