Kimsquit Bay


Kimsquit Bay (52˚50'00" 126˚59'00" E side of Dean Channel, just N of the mouth of Dean R, N of Bella Coola), Kimsquit Narrows (52˚48'00" 126˚59'00" Just S of Kimsquit Bay), Kimsquit River (52˚53'00" 127˚05'00" Flows E and S into the head of Dean Channel). The name comes from a Heiltsuk First Nation word meaning “place of the canyon people” (the canyon in question being on the lower Dean R, just E of its mouth).
