Kildala Arm

Kildala Arm (53˚51'00" 128˚34'00" Extends E from Kitimat Arm, S of Kitimat), Kildala River (53˚48'00" 128˚28'00" Flows NW into the head of Kildala Arm). According to historians Philip and Helen Akrigg, this name comes from the Haisla First Nation word meaning “a long way ahead.” Inconsistent spelling of First Nation names resulted in a cannery located on Kilbella Bay in Rivers Inlet also being named Kildala (see Kilbella Bay).
