Kiju Point


Kiju Point (52˚14'00" 131˚06'00" S side of Carpenter Bay, SE Moresby I, QCI). Kiju, chosen by the hydrographic service in 1962, is a modification of the name of the former Haida village of Kaidju, once located 6 km to the E. Kaidju, or “Songs of Victory Village,” was the favourite settlement of Chief Koya, the notorious renegade (see Kendrick Inlet and Koya Bay).
