Kiddie Point


Kiddie Point (49˚48'00" 124˚38'00" NW tip of Texada I, Str of Georgia). Thomas A Kiddie was a New Jersey metallurgist hired about 1898 by the Van Anda Copper & Gold Co to supervise the company’s Texada I mining and smelting operations. He built two smelters on Texada that ran intermittently, 1899–1919. Prior to his appointment, Kiddie had been assistant manager of the Orford Copper Co of NY.
