Kettle Point


Kettle Point (49˚22'00" 123˚17'00" Between Larsen Bay and Batchelor Cove, E side of Howe Sd, N of Vancouver and Horseshoe Bay). This name was suggested in 1929 by the municipality of W Vancouver in honour of Capt Henry Frank Kettle (1863–1947), who, along with his wife, Mary Jane (1865–1942), was in charge of the Vancouver pilot station at Caulfeild, 1909–20. He had a long history as a deep-sea sailor and was often accompanied on his travels by Mary Jane, whom he’d married in Bermuda....
