Kamaree Point


Kamaree Point (48˚40'44" 123˚23'42" SW tip of Fernie I, off NE end of Saanich Peninsula, N of Victoria). Tom Kamaree, born in Hawaii about 1835, obtained a Crown grant for Fernie I and Goudge I (qv) in 1889 and farmed there for a number of years. The name was suggested in the 1960s by US oil tycoon Paul Whittier, a long-time owner of Goudge I.
