Kaiete Point


Kaiete Point (52˚04'00" 127˚57'00" NE end of Hunter I, SE of Bella Bella). Kaiete is the hereditary name of one of the principal chieftainships of the Heiltsuk First Nation. The chief who bore this name (also spelled Calete) in 1805 was killed while leading an attack on the US trading vessel Atahualpa.
