Jocelyn Hills


Jocelyn Hills (52˚21'16" 128˚39'09" SE side of Price I, NW of Bella Bella). Named by Lt Daniel Pender in 1866 after RN officer William Henry Jocelyn (1842–1910), 4th lt of HMS Scout, who served on the Pacific Station, 1865–68, under Capt John Price and was promoted to cdr in 1877. An Irish aristocrat, he inherited the title of 6th Earl of Roden in 1897.
