Jenny Reef


Jenny Reef (48˚55'00" 125˚31'00" S of entrance to Ucluelet Inlet, N of Alpha Passage, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). The British vessel Jenny was on the BC coast twice in the 1790s in search of sea otter furs. For its first voyage, under James Baker, it was rigged as a schooner. Leaving Bristol in 1791, it arrived in the PNW the following year via Hawaii, where crew members took on board two young Hawaiian women. At Nootka Sd, Baker met Capt George Vancouver, who was heading for Hawaii...
