Jelina Island


Jelina Island (49˚30'40" 124˚18'20" Sabine Channel, off N end of Lasqueti I, Str of Georgia). This name is probably a misspelling of the first name of Velina Daza Lambert, the wife of Lasqueti pioneer Paul Louis Lambert (1876–1945), according to island historian Elda Copley Mason. Paul Lambert, a native of France, arrived on Lasqueti about 1919; first he bought Jervis I (qv), then the property around Lambert Lk, which is named for him.
