Jeffrey Rock


Jeffrey Rock (49˚29'00" 124˚23'00" Entrance to False Bay, Lasqueti I, Str of Georgia). Alfred Jeffrey pre-empted land on Lasqueti I in 1889 and received a Crown grant in 1894. He was a son of William and Susan Jeffrey (the name is sometimes given as Jeffreys or Jeffries), who were among the very first white settlers on Lasqueti and who lived for a while beside Tucker Bay. Alfred homesteaded on the island, as did his brothers Robert and Abraham, and raised sheep there. There is a 1949 death...
