Innes Passage

Innes Passage (50˚23'00" 125˚10'00" Cordero Channel, between Sonora I and Gillard Is, N of Campbell R). This feature was named in 1955 after Bob and Donald Innes, two brothers who drowned in the early 1950s in a boating accident. It is believed that they attempted to cross this channel on a flood tide. The Innes family had moved its floathouse from Frederick Arm to Big Bay in 1930 and made a living for many years from logging and fishing.
