Hope Bay


Hope Bay (48˚48'00" 123˚16'00" E side of N Pender I, Gulf Is). Rutherford Hope (1843–1913) came to BC from Scotland in the early 1880s with his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Lawrence Auchterlonie. They inherited and divided between them the extensive N Pender I property of Rutherford’s brother, David Hope, who was killed in a hunting accident in 1882.
