Hesler Point

Hesler Point (50˚24'00" 125˚09'00" N entrance to Big Bay, W side of Stuart I, mouth of Bute Inlet, N of Campbell R). This name, adopted in 1955, may be a misspelling for Hetzler, referring to an early resident family in the area. A 1927 BC directory lists Cyrus Delevan Hetzler (1872–1944) as a logger and Russell Hetzler (1898–1976) as a fisherman, both at Stuart I.
