Hergest Point (51˚49'00" 128˚01'00" NE entrance to Nalau Passage, SW Hunter I, S of Bella Bella). Lt Richard Hergest, a “most intimate friend” of Capt George Vancouver, was in command of the transport Daedalus, en route to resupply Vancouver at Nootka Sd in 1792, when he was killed by aboriginal attackers at Oahu, Hawaii.
