Helen Point


Helen Point (53˚37'00" 129˚14'00" S entrance to Kitkiata Inlet, W side of Douglas Channel, opposite Hawkesbury I, SW of Kitimat). Helen Gertrude Davies, born in PEI in 1873, was the eldest child of Sir Louis Davies, federal minister of Marine and Fisheries, 1896–1901. See Davies Bay. Capt John Walbran named this point and Gertrude Point opposite in 1898. He also named Ethel Rk in Principe Channel after Helen’s sister.
