Hanatsa Point


Hanatsa Point (50˚32'00" 125˚59'00" S side of Port Neville, Johnstone Str). Located on and named after the 95-ha Hanatsa reserve, a traditional habitation site of the Matilpi people. In the early 1800s this Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation group moved to Havannah Channel and settled at Etsekin; in the 1890s they moved again, to Karlukwees (Qalogwis) on Turnour I, a village site they shared with the Tlawitsis people.
