Greene Point


Greene Point (50˚27'00" 125˚31'00" NE tip of W Thurlow I, Johnstone Str, NW of Campbell R), Greene Point Rapids (50˚26'00" 125˚31'00" Off Greene Point). Named in 1863 by Lt Daniel Pender after Molesworth Greene Jackson, 1st lt of HMS Topaze, who served on the Pacific Station, 1859–63. See Jackson Bay. A P Allison had a railway-logging camp here by 1908 that developed into one of the largest shingle mills on the BC coast.
