Goldstream Harbour

Goldstream Harbour (51˚43'00" 128˚00'00" NE end of Hecate I, S of Bella Bella). The 64-tonne trading schooner Goldstream was built at Alberni in 1864 and worked on the BC coast until taken to Hawaii and sold. Capt James Hewitt, in command of the vessel 1865–66, reported this harbour to Lt Daniel Pender of the RN, who surveyed and named it after the Goldstream in 1867. The ship was presumably named after the Goldstream R (see Goldstream R).
