Gertrude Point


Gertrude Point (53˚38'00" 129˚14'00" N entrance to Kitkiata Inlet, Douglas Channel, SW of Kitimat). Helen Gertrude Davies, born in PEI in 1873, was the eldest child of Sir Louis Davies, federal minister of Marine and Fisheries, 1896–1901. See Davies Bay. Capt John Walbran named this point and Helen Point opposite in 1898. He also named Ethel Rk in Principe Channel after Helen’s sister.
