Frankham Point


Frankham Point (50˚47'00" 127˚35'00" Goletas Channel, S of Hurst I, N end of Vancouver I). Able Seaman David George Frankham, from Esquimalt, was killed in action on Oct 22, 1940, aged 19. He was serving aboard destroyer HMCS Margaree, which sank on convoy duty in the N Atlantic after colliding in rough weather with merchant freighter Port Fairy; 142 crew members were lost. His name is inscribed on the Halifax Memorial.
