Foley Head

Foley Head (49˚48'15" 123˚58'05" Between Hotham Sd and Goliath Bay, N side of Jervis Inlet). Adm Sir Thomas Foley (1757–1833) had an illustrious career in the RN. In 1793, as flag capt of HMS St George, under Rear Adm John Gell, he was present at the capture of the Spanish treasure ship St Jago, the richest prize ever taken in British naval history.
