Fleishman Point


Fleishman Point (53˚13'00" 129˚35'00" SW end of Pitt I, facing Nepean Sd). Flying Officer Edmund David Fleishman, AFM, from Vancouver, enlisted at Montreal and was posted to Saskatoon as a flying instructor before going overseas and joining RAF No 37 (Bomber) Squadron, which flew Vickers Wellingtons in WWII. He was reported missing on an air sortie over Kastelli Tediaga and was presumed killed in action Nov 23, 1942, aged 24. Fleishman is commemorated at Suda Bay War Cemetery on Crete....
