Ferrer Point


Ferrer Point (49˚45'00" 126˚59'00" S entrance to Nuchatlitz Inlet, off NW Nootka I, W side of Vancouver I). The name Ensenada de Ferrer (Ferrer’s Inlet) appears on the chart produced after the historic circumnavigation of Vancouver I by Dionisio Alcalá-Galiano and Cayetano Valdés in 1792. It refers to what is now known as Nuchatlitz Inlet. To keep a link alive with this older designation, the S entrance to Nuchatlitz was named Ferrer Point about 1860.
