Ferguson Point


Ferguson Point (49˚18'00" 123˚09'00" E side of English Bay, S of Siwash Rk, Vancouver). Civil engineer Alfred Graham Ferguson (c 1844–1903) came to Vancouver from the US and became wealthy as a tunnel contractor for the CPR. He built and owned several office buildings, including the Ferguson block at Hastings and Richards streets, which he actually built twice—once with wood and once, after the great 1886 fire, with brick.
