Fairfax Island


Fairfax Island (52˚09'00" 131˚05'00" In Houston Stewart Channel, S of Moresby I, QCI). Lt Fairfax Moresby (1826–58) was the eldest son of Rear Adm Fairfax Moresby, cdr-in-chief on the RN’s Pacific Station, 1850–53 (see Moresby I), and served aboard his father’s flagship, HMS Portland, on the BC coast.
