Escalante Island (49˚31'00" 126˚34'00" S entrance to Nootka Sd, W side of Vancouver I), Escalante Point (49˚32'00" 126˚34'00" Just N of Escalante I), Escalante Rocks (49˚32'00" 126˚35'00" Just SW of Escalante Point). The name Punta e Islas (“point and islands”) de Escalante appears on the charts of early Spanish explorers Francisco Eliza and Dionisio Alcalá-Galiano at this location and was probably applied by Eliza in 1791.
