Cachalot Inlet


Cachalot Inlet (50˚00'00" 127˚09'00" E side of Kyuquot Channel, SE side of Kyuquot Sd, NW side of Vancouver I). Cachalot is the French word for sperm whale. A whaling station by this name—operated here from 1907 to 1924 by Sprott Balcom and the Pacific Whaling Co—was the most productive in BC in terms of numbers of whales landed.
