Bushby Rock

Bushby Rock (50˚33'00" 128˚16'00" Off Commerell Point, S of San Josef Bay, NW end of Vancouver I). Annie Amelia Bushby (1863–1956) was a niece of Adm Sir John Commerell, who is commemorated on nearby Commerell Point (qv). She was also a daughter of BC colonial official and judge Arthur Bushby and a granddaughter of BC gov Sir James Douglas. Annie married Esquimalt shipyard pioneer William Bullen (see Bullen Rk) in 1884. Named about 1940 by regional hydrographer Henri Parizeau.
